Biography:

Dr. Afzalur Rahman is a distinguished international business professional renowned for his contributions to the field of global trade, with over 15 years of experience. Throughout his career, Dr. Rahman has advanced the understanding of international trade management and has made significant impacts both locally and internationally. In addition to his work in global trade, Dr. Rahman provides premier academic training, conference hosting, and event planning services to scholars and researchers, further supporting the exchange of knowledge and expertise in the business world.

Education:

Dr. Rahman holds a Doctor of Business Administration degree in International Business and a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance. He received his undergraduate degree in Business Administration and Management from the University of Windsor, Canada. Additionally, he is a Certified International Trade Professional (CITP) and a Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR), demonstrating his expertise in these areas.

Career:

Dr. Rahman’s career began at Thompson Rivers University, Canada, where he served as a professor of international business management. Following that, he held various positions at the University of British Columbia, Simon Fraser University, University Canada West, Columbia College, and Douglas College, where he contributed to teaching and research through both leadership and innovation.

Research and Achievements:

Dr. Rahman’s research has primarily focused on the areas of Business Strategy, International Business, International Marketing, Global Entrepreneurship, Retailing Management, and Human Resource Management. He has published multiple articles on these topics in different peer-reviewed journals. His work also includes analyzing a range of interdisciplinary subjects, such as international trade theory, regional economic integration (NAFTA, ATPDEA, BRICS), foreign direct investment, international human resource management, international retail management, and cross-cultural communication.

Teaching and Mentoring:

Dr. Rahman is the founder and CEO of Universal Training and Consulting, a multidimensional training institute based in Vancouver, Canada. He believes that educating students is more than just a job—it is his passion. Dr. Rahman values the opportunity to share his knowledge and finds great satisfaction in helping students grasp challenging concepts. With extensive experience and a strong interest in teaching, Dr. Rahman has taught a wide variety of courses in business management, international business, international marketing, and human resource management.
